My History of Software Use I have been documenting my family history on computers for many years. I first began to use a program written by Ira Lund called "Cumberland Family Tree" back in about 1980. It was a relatively good program in its day, but it did not keep up with the development of other software packages. It is no longer being marketed as far as I know, but I still have a copy here. Since then I have purchased The Master Genealogist and Legacy. But now I use the freeware program PhpGedView (PGV) on a web server on my home office. I am now using PGV for all of my data entry. By following the links in the Menu to the left you can read a bit more about these programs.
