Note: The jury consulted together for some little time, and then returned the following verdict:— "We unanimously agree and find that Elizabeth Field and Maggie Feld came to their deaths at Forster, on the 24th day of May, 1898, by the wilful act of John Field ; and that John Field came to his death by his own act on the same day at Forster aforesaid — at about noon, on the Aborigines' Reserve."
