Dear Stuart, I am very happy to share information.... I'm ashamed to admit I don't know how to scan......but I will learn! in the meantime, I'll do it by hand. Firstly, I didn't end up sending for that marriage certificate... I came across a few anecdotal leads which persuaded me that they weren't my relatives and I am currently chasing these. First, I found evidence that those Schneider/Frey individuals in question certainly existed but died at times which didn't match the dates of my relatives. Then I found lots of family references to Catherine Louisa, being Frey, rather than Fry. Lastly I discovered that the Schmitzers in Germany had actually married into the Frey family on 25.1.1785 when Anna Marie Schmitzer married Franz Joseph Frey at Groblellenfeld Bayern. (Perhaps cousins married in order to satisfy the apparent requirement for married couples only to bring their wine growing skills to NSW?) I also have a very vague memory of my father telling me that his own father William was born in Australia, but that some of his uncles were born in Germany. I'm trying to track down the church records of the St Remigius Catholic church in Dahenfeld and a few other leads to see if they married before leaving Germany. However, I can go back 2 more generations of Schmitzers if you are interested. I believe you have the info about the parents of both brothers who emigrated to Aistralia: Johanas Schmitzer and Maria Anna Mallers (I have the 3 siblings of Johanas if you wish)

I believe all these people lived in Dahenfeld.
