CROMARTY: One of the oldest residents of Anna Bay, in the person of the late Mr. Magnus Cromarty, died on Saturday last, after a brief illness of only a few days, from heart troubles. Mr. Cromarty was a Scotchman and noted for his hospitality and kindly feeling towards his neighbours and their regard for him was noted on Sunday when from all around the district they attended in large numbers to pay their last tribute and regard by following the remains to the cemetery. Deceased leaves a widow and large family, all grown to man and womanhood - Messrs. William, Neil, James, Donald & Magnus being sons of the deceased gentleman. Mrs P Campbell, of Kilcoy, is one of the daughters. Mr. Cromarty was 77 years old. Services were conducted at the house and at the grave by the Rev. W N. Wilson and in which the latter was asisted by the Rev. W. Wall. Special reference will be make to the deceased gentleman at the local service of the Free Presbyterian Church. We extend our sypathy to the bereaved family.

Mr George Morris, of Pulver Street, Hamilton whose death was reported last week was aged 67, was born at Cooks Hill, during the 1893 flood. His parent's home at Moscheto Island was flooded and his mother had been taken to Cook's Hill. He was the only son of the late Mr and Mrs Levi Morris and had lived on Moscheto Island for a time, but removed with the family to Anna Bay and later came to Tomago where he in the company with his father farmed on the farm on the Windeyer Estate on the cornerof Tomago and Cabbace Tree roads and now owned by Mr Ern Cox. leaving Tomago about 25 years ago. He went to Anna Bay where he carried on the occupation of oyster farmer for a number of years then removed to Hamilton where he resided until his death. About 9 1/2 years ago, the late Mr Morris had been the victim of a stroke and had been more or less an invalid since that time. Some weeks before his death he was again the victim of a stroke and recurring strokes so weekened him that death ensued. Whilst residing at Tomago he was a keen member of Lodge Hunter Masonic Lodge and was for a term its Master. He was also a loyal adherent of his church - The Free Presbyterian of which he was an Elder.
